Biography

Abigail was born on Halloween in 2009. She developed normally just like any other child. When she was a year old we noticed that there were things she wasn't doing. She couldn't crawl or stand up and she lost interest in chewing food. We started seeing a paediatrition who agreed there was something wrong but they wasn't sure what. After a year and a half of tests we found out that Abigail had Rett Syndrome.

To find out that your child may never walk or talk is one of the worst things you can hear. Abigail continued to lose skills she had learnt. She started to have seizures in April 2014. We spent 2 days in hospital with Abigail having approximately 20-30 seizures a day. A year on and they are now controlled. Rett syndrome may have stolen Abigail's ability to walk and talk but it hasn't stolen her smile and laugh. She is one of the happiest girls we know and always has a smile for you.
