Biography

Sean was a very sickly baby from birth. He struggled to put on weight from the off and at 3 months was prescribed milk from the Doctor. His condition did not improve, through my persistence, I finally managed to get a diagnosis that he was actually dairy intolerant. Sean was moved on to a special diet, however his weight has always remained a concern.

As Sean has got older, his health problems have become more apparent. He was referred to our Community Pediatrician last year (following the Autism diagnosis of his younger brother Jack in March 2017). The Pediatrician was very concerned about his low weight and lethargy and general inability to fight off simple illnesses. After many tests and a long wait, it found that his immune system was low, this appeared to be the main cause of his health problems.

The last couple of years, I had noticed that Sean's behaviour was very "hyper" and erratic at times. He struggled with concentration, basic instructions and something just didn't feel "right". Again, following multiple observations, tests and input from other services, Sean was diagnosed with ADHD.

Sean is now getting all the help and support that he needs, I feel that a quilt will be so special to him, as he can most often be found in a quiet corner snuggled up in a blanket!

Thank you for reading his story and we look forward to receiving his beautiful quilt x
