Biography

Anabelle was born in June 2011 after a normal pregnancy and labour. She was very twitchy as a baby and was diagnosed initially with epilepsy at 4 months old after having seizures. This later led to a diagnosis of Dravet Syndrome at 15 months old after having several prolonged seizures, usually triggered by temperatures and illness. She has seizure activity every day which doesn't always turn into a seizure. She is very ataxic and has mobility issues.
Despite being developmentally delayed due to the effects of seizures lasting up to 3.5 hours she never lets things get her down and always has a smile on her face. She has managed to just avoid being intubated on a couple of occasions by coming out of prolonged seizures just in time. We don't know what the future holds for her but just take each day at a time.
