Biography

Thomas was diagnosed with lissencephaly at 5 days old. We were told he wouldn't be able to walk, talk or feed himself and that he was unlikely to live past 2.

At 4 months old Thomas had his first seizure and from there he’s been diagnosed with complex epilepsy with a big struggle to gain control of the seizures.

Thomas has spent a great deal of his life in hospital due to seizures and infections as he has a weak immune system. He's had pneumonia and collapsed lungs multiple times. In March we very nearly lost Thomas with respiratory failure, he was intubated and we were told to prepare for the worst.

As I’m writing this in November we are currently in hospital again with Thomas fighting a very nasty chest infection and another collapsed lung.
Despite all this Thomas is a happy, chatty little boy who loves to look at bright colours and lights and play with his amazing big brothers.
