News 28 May 2011 - 04 Jun 2011Quilt News No quilts have been delivered this week, but lots of work is going on in the background. Joan has been working on Callum's quilt and it was posted yesterday. Joy and Joyce are working on Jack B and Max P's quilt and Liz is working on Faith's quilt. Joanne has completed the World Landmarks quilt! We are absolutely delighted as we have had these squares on our hands for a long time - prior to the Popular Patchworking magazine article we were snowed under just keeping up with the named child quilts. However, Joanne has completed the quilt for us, and it looks absolutely fab! We will keep the quilt for an emergency request - when it comes, we'll be able to send it out straight away. Joan's work with Callum's quilt is very advanced and she hopes to post it out to him this coming week. Quilts opened/closed McKenzie M's quilt was closed Stitch-a-long: Hello Kitty's quilt was closed Stitch-a-long: Disney Pixar Cars's quilt was closed Note: The Hello Kitty and Disney Pixar Cars have been closed to make way for some fresh Stitch-a-longs we intend to open this coming week, but if anyone is particularly interested in stitching for these themes, feel free! We received this photo of Abigail who currently has her quilt with her in Bristol Children's Hospital - get well soon, Abbie! 
We received this news about Scott: "Scott is back in hospital and many people have commented on how beautiful his quilt is and how talented you all are. When people look at it he signs thank you! He likes to sign 'car' and points at the ambulance on the material (he's been in one too many times). Scott has very little energy, so often likes anything that he can look at,and his quilt is so bright and fun. He has settled tonight stroking the square with mater on. It is nice to know there are lovely people out there who care about our special kids. xxx" And Corey-Jack: "Lil Corey-jack has been very poorly again and guess what was the only thing he wanted! Yep you got it his Love Quilt! xxx" Square News We have received another large square haul this week - 34 squares! Rest in peace little one x We have also heard that Abigail who received the Flower Fairy quilt in January 2011 is currently in hospital, we send our best wishes and hope she is on the mend soon. Abby's quilt is brightening up her room at the hospital :) Quilt News This week, Katherine has completed Lotty's quilt and we are now waiting for it to arrive in the post. Issue 152 of Cross Stitch Crazy magazine is currently on sale and we are Club of the Month! Very many thanks to Cross Stitch Crazy magazine for selecting us and doing a lovely little article about LQUK. Thank you also for the prize which includes some Tetley tea and shortbread, as well as several lovely cross stitch kits. Don't forget we are appearing in Popular Patchworking and World of Cross Stitching magazines until the end of this month. Gaynor bumped into Katie from Popular Patchwork magazine at a quilting show in Malvern on Saturday - it was Katie that set up the article that has brought us so many offers of quilting help.
