Biography

Zara is a twin and we knew at our 12 week scan that there was something very wrong. We were told that she would not survive the pregnancy. Zara did and proved the Drs wrong and was born early at 33 weeks. She spent 3 weeks in NICU.

Zara was diagnosed with Noonans Syndrome at birth and had an aggressive heart defect. This got worse very quickly and Zara had life saving open heart surgery at just 16 weeks old. Her recovery was rocky and we nearly lost her post surgery. She spent 2 weeks in PICU and was ventilated until she was strong enough to recover. Her organs began to shut down and she suffered kidney trauma. Zara has weak lungs and has been hospitalised twice with pneumonia. Recently Zara has has a gastrostomy fitted to help her recieve nutrition.

Zara is amazing! She is so smiley considering what she has been through in her short life. Noonan syndrome is a life long condition and Zara will always need done level of support .
