Biography

Jack is an amazing boy, who despite suffering from a range of debilitating conditions still smiles every day. Jack was born after an un eventful pregnancy and all was fine for the first three months of his life, but at three months he developed bronchitis and was admitted to Alder Hey. While there Jack began to have seizures and was diagnosed with West Syndrome. Since then Jack has faced a fight to remain well. Over the years Jack has been diagnosed with other illnesses but he's coped with them remarkably well until 2012 when he was admitted with pneumonia. After investigations we learned that Jack had been aspirating his feeds and this has scarred his lungs, he became oxygen dependant and we really struggled to keep him well. In a March 2013 Jack had an operation to insert a Jejunomsomy feeding tube to ease his reflux, unfortunately Jack did not cope well with the anestitic and needed care on icu for three weeks. After this Jack has needed more help overnight via an Airvo ventilater. Jack has been quite well until December 2014 when he was admitted to icu again with a nasty strain of influenza, pseudamonas and shingles. We spent four weeks in hospital and came home in January and he's slowly getting back to his cheeky self.
