Sadie safely received her most beautiful quilt today. We cannot thank you all enough for all your beautiful hard work. She loved it so much just held it straight out of the packing and wouldn't let go! After an awful week last week with Sadie in hospital, I cannot thank you enough for making this week so much more special. You are all Angels, much love XXX

Biography

Sadie was born in April 2000 with no visible signs of issues. Unfortunately she wasn't meeting her milestones and by a year old was seeing physio and at 2 1/2 was under speech and language. No one could pinpoint Sadies issues until a barrage of genetic tests and just a few head on battles found she had a rare genetic syndrome that usually affects only boys.

Although not presenting as severe as males, Sadie has had various issues including selective mutism, muscle weakness and most recently the start of absence seizures. Although now 17 years old Sadie has never matured and remains mentally around the age of a 5 year old.

She loves making things and helping her friends. She enjoys various activities including horse riding, swimming and especially trams, trains and London red buses. She is mad on minions and has special wheel trims of them on her wheelchair.

After an enforced break from education, Sadie is now in a new college learning life skills and thoroughly enjoying the next stage of her life into adulthood.
