I have an extremely happy Grace-Ellie tonight. I was so excited for her to get home from school so she could open her quilt!!! It is absolutely gorgeous and she loves it so much already!!!! As always, thank you so much to everyone for their hard work on the beautiful squares and a huge thank you to Jill for quilting it all together. Grace said “thank you Love Quilts UK for making this for me, all my squares are my favourite, Roberta’s Rabbit square is so beautiful thank you all, I love you, from Grace-Ellie” xxx

Biography

Grace is a very loving little girl. She has always been confident but the last year she has started to lose some of that confidence and her anxiety has set in more and more. Her two brothers both have disabilities and Grace has had to cope with me having to be in and out of hospital with her younger brother who has a severe heart condition and other multiple diagnoses.

Grace does well academically, but her teacher has started to notice her losing focus more and not forming easy friendships, especially with other girls. Her brothers both have ASD but it is a lot more difficult to see and diagnose in girls so the symptoms have taken longer to start showing.

Grace suffers with her skin, getting eczema round her body that makes her very conscious, she gets very tired and overwhelmed in social situations, we have got her in to after school activities like cubs and brownies and martial arts to try and build her social skills, but she prefers me to stay with her wherever possible (I can often be found helping out at Cubs now!).

Grace craves the quiet and safety of home and being selected for a quilt will mean the world to her.
