Biography

Normal birth but at 5 months had pneumococcal meningitis which left her incapable of doing anything for herself. She has been in and out of hospital since then. She’s on cpap and dehumidifier overnight and her lungs weaken a bit every time she has a chest infection. Abi also has scoliosis and was going to have the operation 2 years ago, but Abi fell ill with a rhino infection. While in hospital Abi caught sepsis but pulled through. We then decided, with the help of consultants and doctors who deal with Abi at QMC Hospital Nottingham, not to go ahead with the operation due to risks to Abi and quality of Abi’s life.
