Biography

Brodie was born on time after a fantastic trouble free pregnancy. We were told we had a beautiful 8lb 3oz baby boy. 8 days later we were rushing our lifeless baby to intensive care who was now only 6lb in weight.

After tests we were told our baby boy was infact a girl and she had a condition called salt wasting congenital adrenal hyperplasia.

We also soon found out that Brodie's tummy didnt empty properly.

She spent the first 5 years of life practically living in different hospitals having many different operations and procedures.

Now at 9 years old she has a portacath for IV access, a tube for feeding called a jej that goes straight into her bowel bypassing her stomach and a tube in her stomach called a peg to drain anything like secretions.

She still has a few operations to go through but takes it all in her stride.
