Biography

My cousin gave birth to Jake after having her other 4 children removed from her care. She received no antenatal care and was addicted to drugs and alcohol. She had been missing for 4 years.

We found out Jake had been born whilst checking on the other children and we were asked to take Jake and we readily agreed. We were assessed and finally Jake came home when he was 7 months old. We knew then that he had problems and we started to fight to get him diagnoised. We fostered him at first and then became his Special Guardians when he was 12 months old.

We found out that Jake had suffered strokes within the womb and also went through withdrawal from Heroin and Methadone.

He has weakness on is left side and walks with a limp and tires easily. He was diagnoised with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome aged 2.

He is determined and strong, and never gives up. He will live with the legacy of his birth parents all of his life but I know he will succeed with whatever he puts his mind to.

He is out Kinship Boy and now has 2 loving sisters and three loving brothers who welcomed him readily into their home to share their parents.x
