Biography

Jayden was delayed with his development from birth he suffers with nystagmus which has always affected he’s vision leaving him with little or no depth perception. He has short term memory so has to be constantly guided through day to day activities, he is a very loving little boy who has grown up enjoying fitness and marvel. He is currently functioning at half his age range but is still learning new skills just takes longer. He loves family time and adores his little sister.
When he was born he struggled badly with reflux and was a very portly baby, he started walking at about 23 months old but was always accident prone due to his vision. He was about 3 when they first started investigations and realised that something wasn’t right. He’s seen lots of professionals over the years and unfortunately no one has so far been able to tell us how far he will progress. Jayden has managed to attend mainstream school to present with great support from the school to help him as much as they can. He will be attending a specialist school from next year who will be able to hopefully continue supporting him and help him progress in the future. He can’t be left unsupervised as he has no perception of danger and struggles with right or wrong needing to be guided with his decisions. He struggles with unknown situations, new people, loud noises, new environments and fiddles with key rings.
