Biography

Jonathan is a lively 12 year old who attends a special school. Although he is 12 he is mentally about 4 years behind. His special interest is engines and how things move. He is scared of the dark and enjoys seeing stars and the moon to help him settle.

Whilst I was pregnant they noticed that Jonathan had renal kidney dilation and had to be monitored closely during pregnancy and after.

We noticed Jonathan was delayed when he only had 2 words at age 2 and when he reached nursery only knew 10 words and was still not toilet trained. He had a working diagnosis from age 4. During his regular appointments we had referral to Occupational Therapists who diagnosed his other conditions and then he received his Adhd diagnosis at age 8. He is a happy child who enjoys playing on his own and watching programmes relevant to his special interest.

Jonathan struggles with social situations and reading and writing. This has been helped by him having an Education Health Care Plan and attending a specialist provision that are working well with him.
