Biography

Vicki was born with the locked in syndrome with no emotions or connection to what was going on around her. We did our utmost to bring her into our world to enjoy life which she does most of the time. Her smile lights up any room. We used lots of mirrors and facial expressions to help her open up.
Vicki has faced so many hurdles through her life impacted by being diagnosed with ALL. She fought bravely and had such courage, even when so very poorly she always smiled and told us how much she loved us. Her anxiety is very extreme and causes her so much worry. It has such an impact to those around her because it's so sad to see such a young lady worry about everything!
Vicki's disabilities are mostly masked due to Her repetitive speech which makes her seem much more capable. Vicki has no stranger or danger awareness which makes her even more vulnerable. The AVN which was also caused through high steroid use through treatment is getting worse and we have recently been told Vicki should be a full time wheelchair user, but although it causes her lots of pain she enjoys taking our dog out for walks.
