Biography

Elijah was born in 2018. I started to notice something wasn't quite right when he was around 10 months. He was struggling with weaning onto solids and generally delayed in most aspects. He had his first long stay hospital admission over new year 2020.

Elijah is completely non-verbal although that never stops him getting what he wants! He also has severe sensory processing disorder which means he finds every day extremely hard. He dislikes noise and will have his hands over his ears at all times when he is outside. This year Elijah has been diagnosed with avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and only eats an extremely restricted diet. He has also had another long stay in hospital during the school summer holidays this year.

Elijah had his official autism assessment at the beginning of August this year and we are due to receive the result at the end of September. Despite all the struggles he has the most amazing smile that lights up the room and the cheekiest giggle. He absolutely adores his 4 siblings.
