Thank you

I would like to thank each and every single person who has poured their love into making my son, Ashton, his quilt

As he didn't know about it, I explained to him what it was and what Love Quilts is about and how each square was hand stitched by a different person.

He has the card on his unit

He loves his quilt and so do I.

I can't thank you all enough for taking the time to produce this beautiful quilt that I know my son will forever cherish

My son doesn't like to have his photo taken so he's hiding behind it instead

Biography

Ashton is my first child.

He first showed signs of autism at 2 and a half yrs old. While the signs were apparent to his nursery teacher once he started nursery, I had to fight for 3 more yrs before they even gave me the initial first appointment to start the process. After that it took until he was 8, almost 9 years old before a paediatrician appointment became available. We then had almost 3yrs of appointments before his final one at which he was officially diagnosed as ASD.

In August of 2024, Ashton was then diagnosed with a lifelong genetic condition called Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency which affects his lungs and liver.

While Ashton has so far managed life ok, he has still struggled massively especially when it comes to socialising and his eating habits. He doesn't like to go anywhere and is more comfortable staying home.
