Biography

Ivy is an 8 year old girl who was diagnosed with Hypoplastic left heart syndrome at my 20 week scan. It was confirmed once she was born. She was born by emergency c section and transferred to Alder Hey within hours of being born. She had her first open heart surgery at 8 days old. Her condition is life limiting and all her care is palliative to extend life.


She had her second heart surgery at 7 months old and her Fontan completion happened when she was 4 years old. She was also tube fed as a baby and needed a peg insertion which was later changed to a mic key button on her 1st birthday. She had this until she was 5 when she was finally able to get this removed. She is currently on yearly check ups at Alder Hey.
