Biography

Maddison was born the day after her due date via c- section. Everything was fine and she was healthy. It wasn’t until Maddison was around 7 months that I mentioned to her health visitor that she was not crawling yet and we started looking into other things and realised Maddison would bounce so hard in her bouncer it would nearly flip.

She was saying some words (mum, dad, gran, book) then all of a sudden she would start to forget words. Maddison was then referred to occupational therapy and a specialist speech therapist (Hanen 'More than Words'). She is now awaiting her paediatric appointment which is next week.

Maddison has difficulty sleeping and staying asleep. She’s also diagnosed with Pica (an eating disorder) and childhood diarrhoea which means she will be in nappies possibly until the age of 5. Maddison’s speech has improved so much but still is not where it should be. She has got a placement at an ASN equipped nursery so hopefully that helps with her speech.

Recently we have taken Maddison out of a buggy which has been harder than expected as Maddison is a bolter so always has to have on reins but because of her pica, she always tries to pick everything and anything up and put it in her mouth.
