BiographyPoppy was born in July 2016 and struggled with her development. It wasn't until primary school where Poppy was finally referred for speech and language therapy. Her therapist was amazing, she learned through play and the therapist was the one who suggested Poppy could be autistic. She initially put in a referral but this was rejected as it needed to come from the GP or school.
School got on board and Poppy was on the waiting list for an assessment for autism. She continued to struggle at school and still does but with the right support she has started to socialise with her peers and is getting intervention to support her. She is still massively behind academically. Poppy is now awaiting an ADHD referral as well. Poppy doesn't sleep very well and has now been prescribed medication to help with this.
