Biography

Evie-Mae was born 10 days late on the 5 October 2010. That day was the happiest day of our life we got to take our 'perfect' little girl home the same day. After a few days we started to notice something wasn't right. The way she moved her body and eyes and how physically sick she was.

At 3 weeks old she suddenly stopped feeding and started to lose weight she was admitted to hospital and was put on NG feeding tube she had this for 6 months until she had her gastro tube placed. That first night in hospital she had her first seizure. The seizures only got worse over time no medications worked for her and has been in intensive care because of the length of them on a ventilator.

She is now on the ketogenic diet for her seizures with some improvement. The seizures have had a big impact on her development. She can't do anything physically and is mentally disabled.

Evie Los has a fuq duplication for her severe vomiting and aspiration this has helped. Evie has a severe cough through secretions and we have home suction. She also has a severe visual impairment and mild hearing loss. Evie also has a movement disorder with can be very stressful for her at times.

Although the future isn't certain for Evie we take every day as a blessing and love her with all our heart. She was diagnosed at 4 weeks old with severe epilepsy (a type of dravet syndrome) and she was diagnosed at 6 months old with a genetic disorder of a chromosome deletion 2q24.1-31.1.
