Biography

Matthew was diagnosed with a fatal condition in 2009 at 6 weeks old. After visits to 3 different hospital and weeks of waiting for results to come. At 5 weeks old he had to have a liver and skin biopsy and bone marrow sample taken as well as an operation to correct a double hernia.

Matthew has struggled to meet developmental milestones throughout the last few years. He was unable to talk until he went to school and he now has basic speech. He has to be monitored throughout the school day because he has swallowing issues and trouble with eye movements and when he does p.e he has to be watched because he has a swollen spleen and liver and if he has a bang on them it can cause serious problems.

Matthew is doing well at the moment but this can change at any time due to his condition.
