Thank you

Thank you all so much for Paige's farm quilt. Here she is telling me all the noises the animals make. She has taken her quilt off to bed now and is snuggled up with it. I know she will treasure this for many years! Thank you again.

Biography

Paige was born a happy healthy baby in April 2013. She was our second born and little sister to Evie.

When Paige was 7 months old she had her first seizure at home in the bath she was rushed to hospital where she continued to have seizures. One lasted 2 hours and she stopped breathing. Doctors drilled into her shins to administer medication. I thought we had lost her! Paige continued to have these lengthy seizures each month and they put her in intensive care or the high dependency unit.

In April 2014, they told us she had Dravet Syndrome. Paiges condition is drug resistant and despite being on the best treatments available she still has seizures. It has affected her balance and her motor skills and she requires 24 hour supervision. She has home oxygen resuscitation equipment and sleeps attached to a range of monitors that continuously check her heart rate and oxygen levels. Her seizures are triggered from simple colds and illnesses to playing in the bath or swimming pool. It affects every aspect of our lives and we never relax. Despite all that Paige goes through she is incredibly strong funny and definitely a little fighter!
