Thank you

Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to stitch a square and to the quilter who put all this together! Alfie is absolutely over the moon with his quilt, and wants to say a big thank you to everyone! He can't wait to get in bed tonight (it's a rare occurrence - his words!) and snuggle in with his quilt!

You are all amazing!

Biography

Alfie was born in September 2012. As he developed through his early years Alfie was always described as having 'little quirks', he enjoyed the same toys, books or songs over and over and enjoyed playing alone or with adults rather than other children.

As Alfie got older he struggled to make friendships and with social norms and being around larger groups of people. This affected his school life hugely, eventually turning into school refusal for 6 months.

Alfie had a low tolerance for noise and struggled with food textures, often vomiting when eating or trying new foods. This often resulted in meltdowns.
Alfie was diagnosed with ASD and sensory processing disorder at the age of 7. He has since moved schools and with support from the adults and school staff around him he now has a small friendship group & enjoys the school experience with support aids and regular reviews.
