Biography

Abu was born at 37 weeks at the Royal Bolton Hospital. After birth Abu stopped breathing for 15 seconds and was rushed in to NICU. After been placed in NICU they realised Abu had 3 large holes in his heart, he was unable to swallow, he had extra water on his brain, his limbs were straight and the list carried on.

We spent the first four months of Abu's life at the Royal Bolton Hospital. Abu was fed by a NG tube using a feeding machine. Finally we got transferred to Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool for open heart surgery. Abu had surgery done but took 6 weeks to recover. After Abu’s recovery we were transferred back to the Royal Bolton Hospital waiting for a second surgery for his feeding tube.

Abu was up and down with infections and was forever on antibiotics. After a long wait we were transferred back to Alder Hey for his feeding tube. We ended up at Alder Hey for another 6 weeks. We were supposed to come back to the Royal Bolton Hospital. But as a family we had become fed up of hospital life and we asked to go home from Alder Hey. So in total Abu spend 6 months in hospital.

Once we got home Abu had various hospital stays with various infections which needed IV treatments. After 3 years Abu was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis. We were admitted back to Alder Hey hospital for treatment. With the correct treatment plan we finally come home again. Abu had a few more surgeries done after that. Abu has ongoing appointments with Alder hey Hospital. Going through all of his Abu is an amazing, happy boy full of life and joy.
