Biography

Evie was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy in October 2019 at 4 months old after a virus attacked her heart. She managed on medications for nearly 3 years but eventually she was admitted to hospital for a total of 18 months to wait for a heart transplant. She was placed onto a Berlin Heart which put her at risk of clots, infections and many other issues. Thankfully she received her transplant this year and is back home living with her family.

This is still a lifelong condition and we still have to deal with being immunosuppressed for her life meaning bugs are much more dangerous. But thanks to Evie’s precious donor and their family, she gets to be home with our family of 4.
