Biography

Oakley was born at 37 weeks weighing 4lb. They believe he suffered a stroke around 28 weeks. He was born and immediately resuscitated. He then spent the next few weeks in intensive care where they noticed seizures and abnormal muscle tone and breathing difficulties.

Oakley is now 3 and is 22hr JEJ fed, gastric drainage, on oxygen when asleep, cannot walk or talk or eat. He has 4 hourly medication and nebulisers followed by deep nasal pharyngeal suction. Oakley has 2 nurses accompany him to school and activities. He has spent many months in and out of hospital.

No matter what he goes through Oakley always has the biggest smile on his face and is so interested in the world around him.
