Thank you

Today Felicity received the most incredible gift and our hearts are so full of gratitude..

To every person who stitched a square, thank you. Each piece has clearly been made with such care, patience and love, and knowing that so many people gave their time to create something just for Felicity makes it unbelievably special.

To those who carefully brought all of those beautiful squares together into one stunning quilt, thank you for turning individual acts of kindness into something Felicity can hold, use and treasure every day.

It isn’t just a quilt — it’s comfort, community and kindness stitched into every thread. Seeing her snuggled in it (and proudly sharing it with her brother) was such a lovely moment for our family.

We are truly grateful to everyone involved.
Your kindness means more than words can say

Biography

Felicity was a born a normal happy child, developing well and meeting all her usual milestones. She started walking just before her 1st birthday.

Then when she was 2.5 she started to develop high arches, and we realised she seemed to struggle with jumping. From this time her condition quickly started to progress and she started to walk on the sides of her feet with her feet pointing inwards.

She was admitted to hospital in June 2024 for several tests including an MRI and nerve conduction tests where she was found to have peripheral neuropathy. Genetic testing was initiated.

Felicity then had both legs put into cast in Autumn 2024 to try and improve her foot position - whilst this was initially successful it unfortunately didn't last long, and her feet were reverting by Jan 2025 and her splints were causing rubs.

She was then diagnosed with CMT in February which is a progressive hereditary neuropathy causing muscle atrophy. Felicity has an autosomal recessive version meaning she has got 2 bad versions of the gene, and therefore has quite a severe case.

Felicity started a second lot of serial casting in June and unfortunately her left leg was too bad that this couldn't continue. She is currently wheelchair bound and on the list for urgent surgery.

We know this is likely to be the first of multiple surgeries designed to keep her as mobile as we can for as long as we can.

Felicity is a very resilient little girl who keep a smile on her face no matter the discomfort and pain this condition causes her. We don't know how the condition will progress, but we do know she has it very severe already for a 4 year old.
