Biography

Vincent was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at 6 weeks old after his older brother and cousin were diagnosed with it. Surprisingly, he met all his milestones until he was 18 months old to the point we requested his genetic test was double-checked but the result was the same.
Since then he has been showing signs of his condition with frequent muscle fatigue requiring him to use a wheelchair when out and needing to rest often. This also causes falls on occasion which has resulted in an elbow fracture due to long-term steroids weakening his bones.

Vincent was very lucky to be selected for a medical trial two years ago after passing all the thorough screening tests. However, he had to miss two terms of school for those two years while his immune system was suppressed. It was tough for him enduring all the hospital trips but we're hopeful that he'll see some benefit from that in slowing down the progression of his condition.
