Child Interests

Josh's favourite colour is blue. He LOVES Pokemon, Lego and computer games such as Minecraft and Fortnite. He enjoys lining up toys and organising them.

Biography

Joshua was born naturally and met his milestones until around the age of2 when he regressed slightly and plateaued a bit with his development. He would rarely answer to his name and needed you at his level and face on to gain his focus. As time went on it became clear that his understanding of things was not in line with his peers and he struggled socially and lacked danger awareness. Joshua has poor understanding of his bodily needs such as when he is hot, cold or needs the toilet, instead when he feels uncomfortable he becomes dysregulated and needs help to work out why.

Joshua could not manage mainstream school for long and has been part of a SEND unit for a few years now where his needs are met and he has access to wonderful support from his amazing teachers. Come Septemeber though, he currently does not have a school placement which we are working on finding for him, one that is suitable and can meet his needs to allow him to continue to grow.

Joshua lost his Dad in October 2025 after a mental health battle, this has been devastating for him and all of us, yet he continues to be the most loving boy with the most amazing belly laugh! Joshua tries so hard to understand social situations and wants to have strong friendships, as he continues to learn to navigate the world I have no doubt that he will. Joshua is often praised for his big heart and helping those smaller than him or upset in class.
