Biography

Spencer was born with half a heart. He underwent surgery at 5 days old. After contracting an infection he had undergo a second open heart surgery at 8 weeks old. He spent the first 3 months of his life in hospital. Since his birth he has had countless bloods, cannulas, x-ray and scans, also 7 cardiac catheters and 5 blood transfusions.

We are in and out of hospital every month at least 2 or 3 times for all sorts of appointments. It has been very hard for Spencer, he feels the cold 10x worse then a normal child, he doesn't have the energy to run around the same as other children. He struggles to spend even 10 minutes in the bath.

In February 2017 - on top of his cardiac issues we found out he had non rotation gut, which means his intestines are separate. He underwent a bowel surgery straight away but his no rotation can not be corrected.

August 2017 - Spencer underwent his 3rd Open Heart Surgery. He had a very rough time recovering.

Spencer will never be "fixed", we can only make his life as fulfilled as possible. He will need further catheters, tests, scans, bloods and a Heart transplant is always a possiblilty x
