Thank you

Mirren has just received her beautiful quilt and is over the moon! She’s currently off school because she’s poorly so she’s sitting cozied up with her quilt on the couch! She had a bit of a rough time over Christmas and this has really put a massive smile on her face. She would like to say a big thank you to all the stitchers and Tracey the quilter.

Biography

Mirren was born full term but low birth weight and struggled to feed. She tended to pick up every cold and bug going but never let it stop her.

She is a kind hearted girl who always thinks of others. Her younger brother (you gifted him a beautiful quilt last year) is significantly disabled and was placed on the shielding list during the Covid pandemic. This resulted in Mirren becoming extremely anxious regarding Covid and her brother's health. She has required support from a play therapist to cope with this.

Mirren developed a bad chest during Covid which severely restricted her play etc as she was continually having to stop to catch her breath. For a girl who is active this was a blow. After several visits to specialists she was diagnosed with chronic asthma which requires steroid treatment. She does well to manage it most of the time but winter is a particularly worrying time.
